Business Processing Management System for Governance of Educational Programs

We pleased to announce that we have implemented a new product for one of our customers.

Council of Ontario Universities is a panel of Ontario universities governors that manages the major higher education aspects in Ontario. One of its wings, the Ontario Council for Graduate Studies (OCGS), is in charge for graduating universities programs. By 2006 the numbers of graduating programs in Ontario turned to over 1200. Managing such a large number of programs became very difficult and ineffective by using then current technologies. The managing issues were mostly related to the finance, coordination of appraisal, claiming, documents and records version control.

The provided solution offers a web based system to support all aspects of the business process management for the Ontario Council for Graduate Studies. The product served the internal and external users, helped managing the processes, statuses, documents and records and history of their changes, calendars, appointments and meetings minutes, communications and messaging, and financial aspects of the business including expenses and various reports.

The application is built on our enterprise content management system, driven by BPM, and uses the integrated modules of ERP, CRM and Reporting suites. The technology platform is based on Java and comprises such sub-systems as content management, document and records management, business process management, data analysis and reporting and other modules.

This system will be hosted in our data center that runs our cloud computing environment on multi-tenant SaaS platform. Technologies in the raw: Java, J2EE, JavaScript, WebSphere, Eclipse; AJAX, RIA, Multi-tenant cloud computing platform, SaaS/WEB 2.0 Platform as a Service hosted on Linux.
